cosatuSABC News reports that trade union federation Cosatu has accepted President Jacob Zuma's public apology on the Nkandla matter.

Zuma addressed the nation on Friday evening following the Constitutional Court judgment that ruled that he failed to uphold, protect and defend the Constitution.  He apologised for his handling of the Public Protector's remedial action on the non-security upgrades at his private Nkandla home.  Cosatu President S’dumo Dlamini noted that Zuma was remorseful and said:  "In my culture if somebody says … I am sorry, you do not ignore the apology, you listen and you do not just listen to it but you then look into what then after the apology, which is what Cosatu will be doing.  So we are not fazed by people who are on a day to day basis have been hell-bent on removing President Zuma."
