ComairEWN reports that as the Comair workers’ wage strike continues at airports, the company has assured customers there won’t be major disruptions to flights this week.  

CEO Erik Venter indicated:  “We’re securing replacement staff to assist with the shifts.  Operations are still running smoothly and we’ve had no major disruptions to flights.  We do encourage our passengers to however continue using the online check-in as well as the self-service check-in at airport - just to improve efficiency.”  Workers affiliated to the United Association of SA (Uasa) have turned down the latest offer, while Comair has locked-out workers in order to protect the company’s interests.  The union has been granted picketing rights by Airport Company SA at the OR Tambo International, Cape Town, King Shaka, Port Elizabeth and George airports.
