harmonyANA reports that Harmony Gold Mining on Monday announced that an employee had died in a mine accident underground at its Welkom operation in the Free State over the weekend.  

“Harmony regrets to advise that an employee was fatally injured in an underground rail-bound related incident,” the company said in a statement.  The accident occurred at Harmony's Phakisa mine on Saturday.  Investigations into the accident are under way.”  Harmony's management team expressed their condolences to members of the deceased's family, friends and colleagues.
