protestANA reports that members of Chemical Energy Paper Printing Wood and Allied Workers’ Union (Ceppwawu) will picket at petrol depots and at some pharmaceutical companies in four provinces on Thursday as part of its ongoing industrial action.  

The union’s general secretary Simon Mofokeng said that, in in line with the union’s decision to intensify its strike against the National Petroleum Employers Association, there would be pickets and demonstrations in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.  The biggest demonstration will be in Secunda, Mpumalanga, at Sasol.  Union members downed tools on 28 July in the petroleum sector in pursuit of their demand for a 9% increase in wages.
