numsaTMG Digital reports that the National Union of Metalworkers of SA (Numsa) has announced that it has terminated its relationship with its former spokesman‚ Castro Ngobese.

In a statement‚ Numsa said that Ngobese had served the union with distinction and his commitment to the cause of the working class was not in doubt.  It went on though to recount the disciplinary action it had taken against Ngobese after he had absconded from work for a long time and the further developments thereafter.  The eventual outcome has been the making of a payment on the basis of a CCMMA settlement and termination of the relationship.  This was after a futile attempt had been made at finding a resolution to the matter that could have led to Ngobese returning to work at the union.
