nactulogoFin24 reports that, although expelled from Cosatu, the National Union of Metalworkers of SA (Numsa) will still have an input to forums such as Nedlac where labour is represented by three trade union federations.  

The National Council of Trade Unions (Nactu) has agreed to liaise with Numsa and to put forward agreed positions.  In forums such as Nedlac (National Economic Development and Labour Council), Nactu and some other delegates have been of the view that the absence of Numsa has had an adverse effect.  However, Nactu president Joseph Maqhekeni stressed that collaboration did not mean that Nactu and Numsa would be amalgamating.
