sapsEWN reports that a memorial service took place in Mitchells Plain for three slain police officers on Tuesday morning.  The SA Police Service (SAPS) members were gunned down in separate incidents across Cape Town over the past seven days.  

In his address, Western Cape Police Commissioner Khombinkosi Jula described this past week as a tough and traumatic one, adding that officers were being specifically targeted.  So far, one arrest has been made in connection with an attack on two officers in Phillipi East last week.
