kusasalethuEWN reports that Harmony Gold has confirmed that a second miner trapped at Kusasalethu mine near Carletonville since Friday morning has been brought to the surface deceased.  

Another of the five mine workers was brought to the surface on Saturday, but died after succumbing to his injuries.  Three employees remain unaccounted for and rescue efforts will continue by specially trained mine rescue teams until they have been found.  The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) said it would continue to monitor rescue operations and would provide support where necessary.  Amcu President Joseph Mathunjwa has commended Harmony management for stopping all operations.
