roadpassengerbargcouncilEWN reports that the SA Transport and Allied Workers’ Union (Satawu) has confirmed that a new wage offer has been put on the bargaining table in an attempt to end the national strike in the road passenger sector.  

The SA Road Passenger Bargaining Council (SARPBAC) and the Council for Conciliation, mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) have proposed an offer of 8.75% for the first year and 8.25% for the second year of a two-year deal.  Workers have been on strike for nearly a month, demanding a 9% wage hike.  Satawu's Zanele Sabela said unions were currently consulting their members about the new offer and would let the public know in due course.”
