The Star reports that Deputy Minister of Labour Patekile Holomisa was involved in a car crash in Transkei in which at least five people were injured.
A case of reckless and negligent driving was being investigated, police spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha advised. He could not provide details of the accident or any indication of which driver was deemed to be at fault, but did say that all the drivers were going to be investigated. Eastern Cape Arrive Alive spokesman Tshepo Machaea said the Mercedes-Benz in which Holomisa was travelling and a bakkie collided on the N2 between Dutywa and Butterworth at about 1pm on Monday. The injured from the bakkie were taken to hospital. The Department of Labour could not be contacted for comment.
