uasa thumb medium70 84EWN reports that the United Association of SA (Uasa) will be meeting with Comair at the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) on Tuesday to continue wage negotiations aimed at ending the union’s current strike.  

Comair workers have rejected the airline’s three year offer of a 23% wage hike.  Ground staff workers at five airports throughout the country are still demanding a 30% increase.  The company has meantime locked-out its striking workers.  The union has been granted picketing rights by the Airport Company SA at the OR Tambo International, Cape Town, King Shaka, Port Elizabeth and George airports.
