eNCA reports that traffic incidents management company Teti Traffic and the SA Transport and Allied Workers’ Union (Satawu) will start conciliation talks on Wednesday.
The conciliation follows Satawu’s declaration that it would embark on a strike from Tuesday, after the parties deadlocked over the union’s demand for salary increases of up to 130%. “Teti is apparently offering a 7% salary increase. The company manages traffic incidents on behalf of the SA National Roads Agency (Sanral). In terms of an agreement reached at the CCMA on Friday, the union would be responsible for discipline and order during the strike. Satawu members would only be allowed to gather at the central operation centre in Midrand.
