Netwerk24 reports that the Passenger Rail Agency of SA (Prasa) and the SA Transport and Allied Workers’ Union (Satawu) will be back in court on Tuesday over an interdict against strikers.  

Court orders against Satawu and the strikers that Prasa believes were behind the damage done to trains in Cape Town extend until Tuesday, when the court will decide whether they should be made final or not.  They include an order prohibiting Satawu and strikers from entering Prasa’s property.  Members of Satawu have been striking for the past month to get temporary workers permanently appointed, to prohibit outsourcing and to increase wages.  The damage to trains and infrastructure has resulted in severe delays in the past few weeks to rail services in Cape Town.
