publicprotectorTimesLive reports that former employees of the former Venda homeland in Limpopo who were deprived of their pension funds from the former bantustan are set to receive their monies.

Public Protector Thuli Madonsela has ordered that payment be made to ex-government employees whose pension monies were swallowed by the amalgamation of the former Venda Pension Fund and the First Privatisation Scheme before the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) came into effect.  Some of the complainants‚ who had approached Madonsela's office for intervention‚ had worked for government in the former homeland for more than 20 years‚ only to forfeit their pension monies upon retirement.  Madonsela’s report indicates that there was maladministration in the manner in which the fund was handled and ordered a review of the payment method.
