EWN reports that Parliament’s management says the National Education Health and Allied Workers’ Union (Nehawu) is not using the proper channels to resolve labour disputes.
Nehawu is demanding that Parliament’s Secretary be fired or step down for allegedly misappropriating funds while on a trip to the United Kingdom. The union’s Sthembiso Tembe also alleges that workers are being victimised for participating in a strike towards the end of last year. But Parliament’s spokesperson, Luzuko Jacobs, says the union should be raising its concerns at the Collective Bargaining Council.
