SowetanLive writes about Sello Mokate‚ 30‚ who graduated with a B-tech in Chemical Engineering two years ago‚ but who has landed up selling naartjies at the traffic lights.  

The graduate resorted to selling fruit at the busy R104 and R24 intersection in Rustenburg town to provide for himself.  Mokate received his qualification from the University of Johannesburg in 2014 after he was granted a bursary by the National Skills Fund.  He was employed once by a chemical company in Randburg before his contract expired.  A picture of Mokate taken by a passerby on Tuesday is currently making the rounds on social media in hopes of getting him a job.  He is the second person with a chemical engineering qualification to take to the streets with a placard looking for a job.  Earlier this week a young woman whoholds a BTech degree from the Vaal University of Technology‚ took to the streets of Rosebank in Johannesburg to look for a job.  She has received several job offers, including an offer of a learnership from Sasol.
