The New Age reports that two hundred student nurses in the Free State say they are still unemployed despite the provincial Department of Health’s promises to give them jobs.
In February this year, the department said it would deploy all 200 student nurses to various hospitals across the province. However one of the student nurses said they were still unemployed and went on to state: “We tried contacting the department, but they are still not saying anything. We can’t work anywhere because they still have our release letters.” The department has urged the students to be more patient and wait for the process to unfold as their matter is receiving undivided attention.
