EWN reports that the National Taxi Alliance (NTA) has confirmed there will be no taxi strike in Gauteng on Monday. The Community Safety Department released a statement on Sunday expressing its concern over the looming strike in the industry.
Taxi bosses are apparently unhappy about the implementation of operation 'ke molao', which has resulted in hundreds of taxis being impounded for flouting road regulations. The NTA's spokesperson Theo Malele has given the assurance that there will be no disruptions on Monday, saying: “There is no meeting that sat and took this decision so therefore services will be normal and we would like to apologise to the commuters for any inconvenience caused.”
