ANA reports that four people, including a murder suspect, were arrested at the Northam platinum mine near Thabazimbi in Limpopo during an operation in the area of the mine on Monday night.
Police spokesman Moatshe Ngoape said the suspects were arrested in connection with the public violence and malicious damage to property that took place during the violent protest actions at the boom gate of the Zondereinde mine on 6 June 2016. One of the four was also arrested for the murder of Thembinkosi Mhlabeni, who was stabbed to death during the protest action. The hunt for the second murder suspect is still ongoing. The investigation into the shooting and killing of Mthetheleli Zefunele on 5 June at a hiking spot in Northam is still ongoing.
