Caxton News Service reports that twenty five people were injured after the truck they were travelling in fell into a ditch at a farm in Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal.
The truck was apparently offloading workers for the day when the handbrake failed and the truck rolled backwards into the ditch. Some of the labourers were on the truck and others behind it when the incident occurred. Netcare911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said the farmworkers sustained moderate to minor injuries. The injured workers were treated on the scene before being transported to hospital.
