Netwerk24 reports that political scientist Dr Piet Croucamp will be leaving the University of Johannesburg (UJ) on 30 June 2016.  

This has been confirmed by Herman Esterhuizen, UJ spokesman.  He indicated that Croucamp’s termination of service was not connected to a controversial video on YouTube.  The video, with extracts from an audio recording of a debate about the existence of God between Croucamp and Prof Richard Howe of the American Southern Evangelical Seminary, caused a sensation.  There has also been unhappiness over Croucamp’s work as a television presenter for the programme Megaboere on KykNET.  Maroela Media writes that it is not clear whether Croucamp was fired or resigned freely.
