kznlogo thumb100 Daily News reports that policing is being stepped up at four public hospitals in Durban in the wake of violence linked to a labour outsourcing strike.

The facilities are Prince Mshiyeni Memorial; King Dinuzulu in Sydenham; King Edward VIII; and Mahatma Gandhi hospitals.  Community Safety and Liaison MEC Mxolisi Kaunda said police would be on guard until calm had been restored.  The move comes in the wake of last week’s fatal shooting of two workers and the arrest of a third at King Edward VIII Hospital.
