EWN reports that there has been an apparent breakthrough in the investigation into an attack on two paramedics at the Happy Valley informal settlement in Cape Town.
The paramedics were responding to an emergency when they were ambushed by a group of armed men. One of the paramedics was stabbed and their vehicle was vandalised. The officials were also robbed. Western Cape Ambulance Services Chief, Pumzile Papu, indicated that two men have been arrested in connection with Monday’s incident. The arrests were made following a tip-off from a community member. There is an expectation that a third person will also be arrested soon.
