Mining Weekly reports that Anglo American Platinum (Amplats) on Monday reported that an explosion-related incident at the company’s Rustenburg East mine fatally injured an employee on 18 August.
CEO Chris Griffith extended his sincerest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased and also indicated that, as was the case following such incidents, an independent and comprehensive process was under way to understand the circumstances.
