strike thumb medium85 85EWN reports that the Nelson Mandela Museum in the Eastern Cape will remain closed due to a strike by staff members.

The fourteen Nehawu-affiliated workers are demanding a 10% wage increase and a review of the company’s medical aid co-payments.  The staff members claim 11 managers earn a combined R6,6 million a year, while the 14 of them earn R1,9 million a year.  Nehawu's Regional Organiser Thabiso Damoyi suspects financial mismanagement.  The museum in Qunu is partially open to the public, but the Mthatha Museum remains closed indefinitely.  The mass action started last week and workers have vowed to continue until their demands are met.
