capetown thumb100 Traveller24 reports that annual salary negotiations may disrupt services to one of Cape Town's most visited attractions, the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company (TMACC) has warned.

TMACC said in a statement on Tuesday that it has been unable to reach a settlement on annual salary increase negotiations with employees affiliated to the SA Commercial Catering and Allied Workers’ Union (Saccawu).  While no formal notification had been received of strike action, the Cableway warned that its employees may opt to exercise their right to industrial action.  Saccawu has apparently asked for a 15% increase, while TMACC is offering 9%.  Visitors have been advised that if there is industrial action, the Cableway "will continue its operations, albeit with a limited number of staff, which may affect services".
