SABC News reports that illegal diamond miners in Kimberley are adamant they will continue their operations, saying it is a struggle for survival.
Over 200 illegal miners (zama zamas) have begun digging land in the Cassandra residential area and adjacent to the Diamond Oval cricket stadium, near the city centre. Residents are not happy and say that government must intervene. While the zama zamas continue with their digging activities, their plea is to get permits.
