newsTMG Digital reports that the Springs Council Chamber will on Friday be the venue for the Sector Parliament for Commercial Sex Workers.  

This is an initiative of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature aimed at creating a platform for meaningful engagement between public representatives and commercial sex workers.  The initiative seeks to “destigmatise‚ encourage engagements and recognise the work done to improve the understanding of the sex work environment.”  It will also allow for “the sharing of much-needed knowledge about current challenges facing commercial sex workers”‚ including HIV prevention and empowerment opportunities concerning commercial sex workers’ rights‚ access to health and well-being.
