er24Daily News reports that charges against four men accused of stabbing ER24 paramedic Lungelo Ntombela in the face and hand have been withdrawn.

Charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm were withdrawn in the Pietermaritzburg District Court this week because of “incomplete investigations”.  The four allegedly attacked Ntombela and three of his colleagues on 24 September.  The state alleged that, while taking patients from a separate incident to hospital, the paramedics came across another crash between two vehicles on Manning Avenue.  When they tried to assist the victims, the four, from one of the vehicles involved in the crash, allegedly began assaulting them.
