TMG Digital reports that the Democratic Alliance (DA) says it is “very satisfied” at the last two days’ proceedings in the Western Cape High Court in the Hlaudi Motsoeneng matter.
The court has been hearing an application by the DA to declare that Motsoeneng should not occupy a position of trust and influence at the SA Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). The DA’s James Selfe said it was apparent that the judges understood the force of the arguments and that the party was confident that it would be successful. He commented thus: “It is very simple what needs to happen — Mr Motsoeneng needs to be removed from the SABC until such time as he has either faced a satisfactory disciplinary hearing and/or the findings and remedial action by PP (Public Protector) have been reviewed and set aside by another court.”
