DispatchLive reports that the National Education Health and Allied Workers' Union (Nehawu) has asked the Public Service Commission (PSC) to investigate corrupt recruitment processes in the Eastern Cape’s cooperative governance and traditional affairs department.
Phumulo Masualle’s office has suspended three union leaders for allegedly hosting a staff meeting during office hours. Nehawu wants the commission (PSC) to investigate the appointments of some senior managers in the department, which it alleges “were irregular and unlawful”. They include last year’s placing of Nomphelo Roboj, by MEC Fikile Xasa, as acting HoD following Bea Hackula’s suspension.
