joburgcityEWN reports that nine City of Johannesburg officials will be appearing in the commercial crimes court on Thursday morning for allegedly stealing R40,000 while working at public swimming pools near Rosettenville.

The cashiers at the Pioneer Park and Southern Suburb swimming pools were arrested on Tuesday for corruption.  It is alleged they pocketed cash payments made by residents using the facilities instead of depositing the money into the city’s bank accounts.  This apparently happened between January and December 2015.  A City spokesperson said more investigations would follow.
