southafricalogoBusinessLive reports that the new disclosure framework of the Public Administration Management Act has resulted in an unprecedented increase in compliance with the stipulation that public servants declare their business interests.

The Cabinet’s governance and administration cluster listed 3,600 instances of public servants facing disciplinary processes, dismissal or prosecution for failing to comply with the framework of doing business with the state.  According to Deputy Minister of Public Service and Administration, Ayanda Dlodlo, while there were no updates on the prosecutions and demotions concluded, tolerance levels of corruption were getting lower.  Tangible results will be available by the end of April.  Department of Public Service and Administration director-general Mashwahle Diphofa commented:  “We needed a period to raise awareness."
