fedusa thumb medium80 85ANA reports that the Federation of Unions of SA (Fedusa) on Tuesday said basic human rights still remained "a bridge too far for many fellow South Africans and likewise our continental African counterparts”.

It went on to say that people remained “trapped in hunger, domestic violence, dread diseases, rural poverty, xenophobic attacks and poverty wages."  Fedusa said that compared to the "scandalous executive pay that remain the order of the day", such crippling realities remained entrenched in SA.  The comments were made as the country commemorated Human Rights Day.  Amongst other pleas, Fedusa urged the government to "intensify and extend the provision and water and electricity, garbage removal, primary health care and the roll-out of antiretroviral drugs to communities that need them".
