southafricalogoEWN reports that the Department of Home Affairs has urged the public not to visit its offices on Saturday (1 July) as they will be closed.  This is a result of ongoing discussions and negotiations between the department and labour unions over working hours.

Spokesperson David Hlabane said the outcome of the negotiations would determine if offices would be functional next weekend.  He added:  “It’s hard to say what will happen beyond tomorrow, but we can confirm that we appeal to members of the public not visit the offices.”
