saa thumb medium95 76EWN reports that on Friday morning officials at OR Tambo International Airport were closely monitoring a go-slow by technical crew at South Africa Airways (SAA).  The workers involved are affiliated to the National Union of Metalworkers of SA (Numsa).

Numsa spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi indicated:  Some of our members have indicated that they will be embarking on a go-slow today.  It’s very likely that flights might be impacted as a result of the go-slow.  Of course, the technical crew is an important aspect of the kind of work that SAA does on a day to day basis.”  In addition, Numsa and the SA Cabin Crew Association (Sacca) were due to march on Friday morning against what they said were poor working conditions and alleged corruption at the national carrier.  A memorandum was expected to be handed to officials at the airport.
