News24 reports that Eskom has terminated the services of its evidence leader, Sebetja Matsaung, in the disciplinary hearing of suspended Eskom executive Matshela Koko.
In a statement released on Saturday, Eskom said Matsaung’s services were terminated following an altercation between him and Financial Mail’s Deputy Editor Sikonathi Mantshantsha after the hearing had been adjourned on Friday. “Eskom condemns Matsaung’s behaviour in the strongest terms possible. We wish to convey our unreserved apologies that this unfortunate incident occurred,” the power utility said. The hearing, which was due to recommence on Monday, will now be postponed until a new evidence leader has been appointed, which could take up to three days to finalise.
