fikilembalulaEWN reports that Police Minister Fikile Mbalula has called on Cape Town police to "make an example" out of the suspects who robbed an ambulance, an act which might be directly to blame for a child's death.

Faigon Wildschut, aged seven, was being transported to the Red Cross Children's Hospital on Wednesday morning when the robbers struck near Borcherds Quarry.  An urgent effort to get Wildschut to the hospital was severely delayed when the ambulance was forced off the road and attacked by the armed robbers.  The boy eventually reached the hospital, but he was declared dead before noon.  Mbalula called on law enforcement to "hunt the suspects down."  A police ministry spokesperson said:  "The minister has actually instructed the police to do everything they can to make sure that they get the perpetrators and make example out of them."
