The Department of Home Affairs has extended to 31 January 2018 the deadline for submission of supporting documents and biometrics for Zimbabwean Special Permit (ZSP) holders who have completed their online applications.
This was because of the large number of ZSP permit-holders who have completed the online applications. Addressing the media on Friday, Director-General Mkuseli Apleni said that to date 169,078 persons have completed their applications online and 135,913 have scheduled their appointments. “By the end of September 2018, we should have completed the whole project, including finalising adjudications and issuing the new permits. ZSP holders are therefore urged to still complete their applications online, make the necessary payment and schedule an appointment by 30 November 2017 at any of the VFS Global offices,” Apleni said. He emphasised that the extension to 31 January 2018 was only for scheduling of appointments for the purpose of submitting biometrics and supporting documents at any VFS offices. The ZSP started in 2014 and was originally issued for a period of three years to allow Zimbabwean nationals to work, study or conduct business in SA.
