EWN reports that the SA Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) expects all of its striking workers to return to their posts on Tuesday after it reached a wage agreement with the Communication Workers Union (CWU).
Workers went on strike last week, demanding a 10% salary increase against the SABC’s offer of 4.5%. According to the SABC, the CWU agreed to a 4.8% increase, backdated to July 2017. The other union recognised at the SABC, Bemawu, signed the agreement with the public broadcaster at the weekend. The SABC's Kaizer Kganyago thanked the CCMA for the contribution it made towards helping the parties reach a settlement of their dispute.
