nehawu80eNCA reports that the National Education Health and Allied Workers’ Union (Nehawu) is expected to provide an update at a press briefing on Tuesday on its nationwide strike at the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS).

Workers at 53 DWS operations downed tools last week demanding that their issues around safety, insourcing and corruption be addressed.  The press conference will focus on the status of the strike, ongoing negotiations between Nehawu and the department, and “a plan of action for the maladministration and corruption that has engulfed the department.”
