durbanBusiness Report writes that Durban Mayor Zandile Gumede has officially launched the Youth Employability Indaba and KZN Career Expo, which will take place from 24 to 26 May at the Durban Exhibition Centre.

Gumede said:  "Investing in youth development is crucial if we want to see the economic development landscape being changed in the eThekwini Municipality area".  She encouraged both parents and teachers to bring young people to the event.  In KwaZulu-Natal, there are 4 million young people between the ages of 15-34.  Of that number, 1.1 million are still in high school and the rest are out of school looking for job opportunities.  This indaba and career expo will give the youth of the province the opportunity to engage with tertiary institutions for university hopefuls and help people looking for jobs to connect with the private sector.
