strike thumb medium85 85EWN reports that workers who fall under the SA Road Passenger Bargaining Council (SARPBAC) could hang up their keys as from later this week after wage talks remained deadlocked.

Annual national wage negotiations commenced in January and, after three rounds of talks, negotiators deadlocked last month.  Unions and employers were then sent away by the CCMA and told to reassess their positions.  Golden Arrow's Bronwen Dyke-Beyer indicated that because this cooling off period ended on Sunday, a strike certificate could only possibly be issued from Monday.  This means the earliest date a strike could called is for Wednesday, following a 48-hour notice period.
