ANA reports that on Monday a 32-year-old security guard was fighting for his life in hospital after he was shot in the chest while on night duty in Benoni on the East Rand.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said paramedics responded on Sunday to reports of a shooting near the Apex railway station on Wolverhampton street, Benoni, where they found a male security guard who had sustained a single gunshot wound to his chest. He was airlifted to Union hospital, where his condition remained critical. Events leading up to the shooting are not yet known and police are investigating.
