Daily News reports that five tow truck drivers were shot during a shooting at the Berea’s Ridge Road garage in Durban in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Two of them sustained fatal injuries. Police said the incident happened just before 2am on the early hours of Saturday morning. Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala indicated that the tow truck drivers were ambushed by armed men who arrived in a white Toyota Etios with tinted windows and who fired randomly. “One died at the scene, four were taken to hospital where one later died. They sustained gunshot wounds to the body,” said Gwala. Police are investigating charges of murder and attempted murder. No arrests have been made.
