sapsPolice in Mpumalanga are searching for unknown men who were responsible for the death of a female police sergeant, who was attached to the Detective Services at Calcutta Police Station.

In the early hours of Saturday, Sergeant Thembisile Ndlovu and her husband, Jabulani Khoza, were asleep in their house near Bushbuckridge when they were attacked by three unknown men who reportedly gained entry through a window.  Once inside, a shootout ensued and Ndlovu managed to shoot one of the attackers, who died at the scene.  The other two suspects reportedly fired at the couple, instantly killing the sergeant.  Her husband was rushed to hospital by neighbours, but he unfortunately later succumbed to his wounds.  The suspects fled the scene in a car that was later recovered in the Bushbuckridge area.  A 72 Hour Activation Plan has been activated by the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mondli Zuma, thereby mobilising all necessary resources to ensure that the suspects are arrested as soon as possible.
