ANA reports that the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) will hold a special national executive committee (NEC) on Wednesday to discuss the impasse in the lengthy plastics sector strike.
Numsa, the largest trade union in the country, said that, in addition to detailing the resolutions of the special NEC, it would brief the media in respect of its stance on Eskom and the power utility's financial woes, including the proposed unbundling of the entity. President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the unbundling in his State of the Nation Address (Sona) on 7 February, which move the union has vehemently opposed.
