nedlacThe National Economic Development and Labour Council (Nedlac) last week released a research report entitled “Futures of Work in South Africa”, which had been commissioned through the council’s Development Chamber.

The final report was presented in March 2019.  The research was aimed at describing the futures of work in South Africa towards 2030.  Insights were gained by focusing on sectoral analyses, the potential impact of skills development and emerging trends.  The outcomes and insights gained from this research resonates with the three pillars of recommendations in the ILO Global Commission on the future of work report, namely investing in the capabilities of people, investing in the institutions of the world of work and investing in decent, sustainable work.
