Fin24 reports that Transnet has announced that its chief executive for Freight Rail, Ravi Nair, has resigned following his suspension in March.  

Nair was one of four executive committee members who were suspended with immediate effect at the time.  The other executives also suspended were group human resources officer Nonkululeko Sishi; group chief operating officer Mlamuli Buthelezi; and chief executive of the Transnet National Port Authority Shulami Qalinge.  At the time Transnet said it was of the view that the executives' continued presence at the workplace had the potential to jeopardise investigations into their alleged misconduct.
