Mining Weekly reports that platinum group metals and chrome concentrate producer Tharisa has concluded a four-year wage agreement with the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu), the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) and Solidarity.
The agreement, which is effective from 1 July 2020 to 20 June 2024, applies to employees who are subject to the bargaining units at the company's 74%-owned Tharisa mine, on the Western Limb of the Bushveld Igneous Complex. "The agreement underpins the ongoing stability of Tharisa’s labour relations and allows the Tharisa mine to focus on growing the business for the benefit of all stakeholders," the company stated.
